pimlico's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- B and H remind me of not giving up but giving in Some people seem to be of the opinion that Britain will become some kind of smoke-free utopia after 1st July, when smoking is banned in pubs and workplaces. They are wrong. And they will realise this after they enjoy a smoke-free evening in a smoke-free pub only to fall over the gangs of furtive smokers hanging around just outside the door as they leave and then breathing in some nice refreshing exhaust fume filled air on the way home. I still think pubs will smell bad. If not worse, after the ban. The fag smoke is probably just covering up the smell of stale beer, failure and pork scratchings. Having said that, I'm thinking of quitting the smokes myself soon. I'm not a massive smoker by any means, but I think my lungs deserve a break. Maybe I'll quit the cigs and take up a new vice. Like sucking the exhaust pipes of London buses. It might be dangerous, but think of the buzz I'll get... 1:16 p.m. - 2007-06-14 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
